Auckland Covid-19 enters alert level 3 – Midday 12 August

From midday today, Auckland will enter Level 3 restrictions while the rest of New Zealand enters Level 2. 

Reece will stay open during these restrictions to support the essential work our customers do to keep the community safe and well.

In line with Government advice you will notice the following changes in branch: 

  • Our barriers will be in place to keep social distance between customers and our people. Our teams will aim to keep 2m between themselves while they work.
  • Continued healthy habits and hygiene practices .
  • As per the Prime Minister's advice, face masks are compulsory during level 3 in Auckland. Our teams will all be wearing masks and we ask they you do the same when visiting us in store. We’ll have spare masks available for you.
  • Some of our teams outside of Auckland may choose to wear a mask also. We’ll also have masks available for you if you wish to wear one.
  • For the purpose of contact tracing, we will request details from everyone who visits our stores.
  • Click and collect is available, as well as access to online orders via maX

There may be additional changes announced in the coming days and we’ll continue to keep our customers updated with any changes that will impact how they work with us and in the community.

  • Regular and thorough cleaning and hygiene practices.
  • Contactless product handover and delivery.
  • For our trade customers there will be greater delivery flexibility.

Supporting you through COVID-19

The impact of the COVID-19 crisis may take its toll in a number of ways whether that’s mentally, physically, emotionally or financially.

As our valued customer, we’d like to let you know about some of the support available to help you through this unprecedented time.

Free Counselling Support

Reece offers a Customer and Employee Assistance program through Assure where you can access free and confidential counselling in person, by phone and online. You can speak to a psychologist or wellbeing specialist about anything that might be affecting you, from general counselling, to financial coaching, wellbeing or manager support.

Government Business Support

The government has also introduced a number of measures which you may be able to access, including Tax penalty breaks for businesses impacted by COVID-19, Wage Subsidy and Essential Workers Leave Support and a Business Finance Guarantee Scheme for small and medium businesses.

$585 per week is on offer for full time employees and $350 for part-time employees. This is uncapped and available to all employers, contractors, sole-traders and the self-employed where your business has been impacted by a 30% decline in revenue due to COVID-19. Read more here

In these challenging and uncertain times there are a number of cash flow and tax measures to support your business which you can discuss with your bookkeeper or accountant including:

• Inland Revenue will be looking into businesses that have been significantly impacted and may reduce use-of-money interest (UOMI)

• Tax savings through the provisional tax threshold increasing from $2,500 to $5,000 from 2020/2021.

• Tax savings through the small asset depreciation threshold will be increasing from $500 to $1,000 — and to $5,000 for the 2020/21 tax year.

• Tax savings through depreciation on commercial and industrial buildings from 2020/2021.

• Increased accessibility on from the In-Work Tax Credit (IWTC) by removing the hours test from 1 July 2020.
