Since beginning operations in New Zealand in 2006, Reece has grown into a nationwide network of more than 40 branches and showrooms. Our locations span both North and South islands, ensuring we’re close to our customers and on-hand to help when it’s needed most. Family owned and backed by a strong presence across Australia and the United States too, we offer the scale to supply major projects while still delivering personalised, local service.

Key milestones
1920 — H.J. Reece begins
H.J. Reece starts out selling quality hardware samples from the back of his truck in Victoria, Australia, before opening a shop front.
1969 — The Wilson family
The Wilson family become majority shareholders in the business, initiating long-term expansion. This is still the case today.
1987 — Reece Australia
The company name H.J. Reece Limited changes to Reece Australia Limited. Over the next decade Reece expands across Australia.
2006 — Kia ora, New Zealand
In the same year Reece became a $1 billion business, we expanded operations to New Zealand with the acquisition of LG Carder.
2014 — Actrol joins Reece
Actrol joins the Reece Group, adding deep HVAC-R experience, products and knowledge to our offering.
2022 and beyond
The Reece brand expands to the US and continues its NZ growth. Today, there are more than 40 branches and showrooms nationwide.
